Making Sure This Easter Is About Easter Eggs, Not Lice Eggs

kid looking for easter eggs

With Easter just around the corner, you’re likely thinking of dyeing Easter eggs with your kids. You’ve got colors and designs on your mind, and your kids are excited about all the chocolate and candy eggs they’ll get to enjoy.

The last thing any of you are thinking about is eggs of an entirely different kind, eggs that bring nothing but worry and frustration—lice eggs!

The Wrong Kind Of Eggs

This Easter, you and your kids will be busy having fun with friends and family, with a lot of hugging, taking selfies, and just general head-to-head going on. Needless to say, any lice in your festive group will get a lot of opportunities to move around and infest other hair.

Infested people can carry up to 20 pests at a given time, from adult louse to nymphs to nits. These critters move quickly, undetectably, and while your kids are having the time of their life collecting and comparing their Easter eggs with peers, there is whole different kind of egg-affair bound to happen after the celebrations.

The last thing you want while your kids are still getting off the high of sugar and cheer is have their school nurse call you up and inform you that they have lice. So this Easter, be cautious.

Here’s what you can do to prevent a lice epidemic:

Advise your kids to avoid direct head-to-head contact. They can get close to someone for a hug or to take a picture, but avoid touching heads.

Any items of clothing, such as scarves, caps, hats, those fluffy bunny-ear head bands and similar items should NOT be shared.

It’s also smart to check your kids’ hair before and after the Easter festivities. Adult louse are easier to spot, and if your child has just contracted one, it’s possible for you to stop an infestation in its tracks.

And if your child does get head lice anyways…no worries!

Scratch That Itch! What to Do When You Get the Urge to Scratch Your Head

The hardest battle you will ever fight is the one against yourself.

There comes a time when we must choose our battles. It’s not easy but with patience, determination, and discipline, we can achieve great things.

Like surviving a 3-hour social event where you’re dying to scratch your head.

Our battle against head lice isn’t new. It’s been going on since the beginning of time. There have been lice combs dating back to thousands of years. Whatever the case, one thing is certain: lice are enemy # 1.

But one thing that always makes it difficult to combat these critters is how they attack. While they are harmless, they are clever. You never know when a pesky parasite is going to show up to the party uninvited. And before you know it, you’re left struggling with an unbearable itch!

At parties, during your sister’s birthday, at a friend’s weddings, or during a date. These are some examples of when you’re left to deal with an itch you can’t scratch!

But rest assured! There are ways to handle the situation like a pro! Here are a few things you can do:

Use a Pen

When you’re at an educational seminar or event, you can always use the pen trick. Just pretend you’re thinking something, while writing down something “important”, and use your pen to scratch your head.

This is a win-win situation because you don’t have to deal with head lice and you’re going to look smart!

Fix Your Hair

Pretend your hairdo needs to be fixed. Use your brush to get rid of that itch! This will also help you style your hair in such a way that you won’t have to worry about pesky critters popping up and ruining the event for you!

Ah, It’s Hot Today!

If you’re outdoors, this is the perfect excuse. “Ah, it’s hot today! My head sure is itchy *scratch, scratch*”.

Chances are, another person will agree with you. Humidity equipped with hair is a recipe for itchiness and disaster.

Go to a Lice Removal Clinic

You can use the above strategies to ward off lice temporarily. Or you know, you could use the right weapon to exterminate the enemy once and for all.

A lice removal clinic helps get rid of head lice, using natural treatments. You no longer have to worry about going to social events without a pesky critter popping up out of nowhere!

We are a head lice removal clinic in Pembroke Pines that uses natural products to get rid of nits and lice from each strand of hair.

We also offer free head lice screenings and in-home treatment services. Feel free to call us at 800-405-8201 for further information and details!

Dealing with a Lice Infestation in the Workplace

There are a varied number of things that need to be dealt with in the workplace on a daily basis. From work performance to personal conduct, there are numerous things that employees must be held accountable for.

This also includes the more personal aspects of employees, from disagreements with other coworkers to any misconduct or misbehavior.

However, there are certain situations that may leave you, as an employer or part of the management, scratching your head about how to deal with it.

One such situation may arise when an employee in the workplace has a head lice infestation.

An Objective Outlook

It’s important to not let personal biases get in the way here. Whatever reaction you may have to the presence of head lice in your vicinity, you must deal with the situation with utmost professionalism.

It would also help to educate yourself on the facts about head lice. This includes clearing up the misconception that head lice are due to poor hygiene or that they spread disease—two things that are entirely untrue.

You can have a one on one meeting with the employee in question, whether they come to inform you of your own volition or you have been notified by someone else.

In order to curb the infestation in the workplace, you can send out an informational e-mail on how a lice infestation has been reported. This message would encourage employees to take necessary precautions and treatments, and must be done without naming the person who has head lice for the sake of their privacy.

The employee can be provided with a brief leave to take care of the situation, and you can even give them a reference to a treatment solution for their head lice problem.

If you are within your rights to offer a recommendation, then you can direct your employee to lice removal service, that is, to Lice Busters USA!

We provide reliable head lice treatment that is guaranteed to get rid of any and all head lice present. Our lice clinics offer a comfortable, family friendly atmosphere, with excellent customer satisfaction.

If you can’t make it to the clinic, we also do in-home treatments for the convenience of our clients. You don’t need to worry about privacy—we keep everything discreet!

Our lice removal services are available in a number of locations in Florida, including Miami, Orlando, Weston, Broward, and more.

Get in touch with us at 800-405-8201 to book an appointment—we are a service that won’t let you down!

Top Home Remedies for Lice You Should Avoid

When it comes to finding answers to the questions that haunt us and make us curious, we look them up online.

The world we live in is guilty of some of the most ridiculous Google searches.  But one thing is true; despite being a blessing in disguise, the digital world also has a ‘bad’ side.

In a world where anyone can gain access to the internet, no wonder there are laws for online activities and for limiting certain products being sold.

When looking up solutions online, it’s imperative to be careful. This is certainly true for lice victims because they are often preyed on due to their situation!

Here’s a list of home remedies that you should avoid (like the plague):

Hot Oil Therapy

There’s nothing like a nice spa treatment to take your worries away! However, if you’re using spa treatment for lice, there is something to worry about!

While hot oil therapy for your hair is an amazing way to get those luscious locks, it doesn’t work for removing those pesky critters!

The remedy requires you to heat oil and apply it to your hair. After this, use a shower cap for 60 minutes to ‘seal’ in the heat. This doesn’t make sense because the heat produced is not enough to kill lice, and heating oil strips it of all its minerals. You’ll most likely end up with a greasy Edward Scissorhands look (Yikes!).

Petroleum Jelly

Good luck with this one! Not only does petroleum jelly not contain any ingredients that helps get rid of lice, once you use it on your hair, have fun getting it out!

Not only does petroleum jelly get stuck to the strands of your hair, it can take up to two days to wash out (Eek!).

Salt

Not sure why salt is always listed when looking up home remedies but one thing is certain, it is not effective. Mixing salt and water, creating a paste and applying it to your mane. Not only will it make your skin itch, it can dry your scalp.

Baby Oil and Laundry Detergent

Mixing baby oil with laundry detergent and white vinegar already sounds like a deadly combo. But not for the lice; instead, for your hair and health.

Laundry detergent contains harmful chemicals that can prove to be fatal if applied directly to human scalp. If you have sensitive skin or eczema, it’s best to avoid this remedy like the plague!

Getting Rid of the Problem…Naturally!

Who says you have to give into lice and go bald? Remember that there’s a solution to everything. Sometimes we just need to search for the answers, and sometimes the answers are in front of us.

The latter is true for head lice. Lice removal services are the bane of these pesky critters. This is because they use effective, reliable, and natural treatments.

They also use special combs built with the highest quality materials available. Lice Busters USA is one such service.

We’re a lice removal specialist based in Kendall and offer reliable and natural solutions for removing head lice. In addition, we also offer in-home lice treatment services to busy individuals. Visit our Kendall treatment center or call 800-405-8201 to book an appointment
